One-on-one guidance

A private session allows us to tailor your physical practice and integrate yoga into your life. We can focus on alignment and modifications, different yoga asana styles, philosophy and taking yoga off the mat, meditation, breathwork, goal setting, and so much more. Feel free to email first to inquire about private sessions, especially if you are new to yoga! $30 off your first 75 minute session for all new students.

  • Sessions are held in your space. There’s no class to compete with, no commute to fuss with, and (I believe) you’re more likely to maintain your set-up and feel comfortable practicing on your own outside of my visits.
  • Your session includes a gentle yoga practice. I teach hatha, vinyasa, and yin yoga styles. My signature 45-60 minute practice is a blend of all 3, a full-body slow flow to long-held stretches with a little guidance along the way.
  • I provide hands-on assists to improve alignment and provide support. This is always optional, and I encourage you to try it out especially if you have not received private instruction before. Nothing beats a savasana massage!
  • We will take time to check-in and take yoga “off the mat” after final rest, or I can sneak out during your yoga nap with a discussion before we practice. Everyone is different each day, so I love the flexibility that 1:1 yoga gives us to find what works best for each moment.

Student Feedback

“You can tell from the moment class begins how much time, care and thought McKinzie has weaved into each of her lessons. From the movements, to the music and sounds, to how she guides you through your practice; every aspect has been intentionally, lovingly, and masterfully chosen… the result of this is a space that feels truly welcoming, inclusive, and safe.”

“There is a saying that goes, “whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are correct.” In other words, it’s all about your mindset. And when you get on in years like I (F-64) and my partner (M-79), it becomes very easy to become mired in a “think you can’t” mentality. And that is precisely where we found ourselves last year after an injury left him unable to partake in his usual 5 mile walks and a slow recovery from COVID left me lethargic, gaining weight, and losing flexibility. My partner mentioned the possibility of yoga and the idea took hold. We did some research and lucked upon the profile of McKinzie Spence at
yogawithmckinzie.com And believe me, as older-aged individuals with zero experience, we certainly presented McKinzie with a challenge.

McKinzie is so talented. She leads our couple’s yoga sessions privately and conveniently in our home. She does so with patience, kindness and exceptional skill in working with beginners. Through her individualized attention we’ve gained strength, balance and flexibility. Our practice with McKinzie has helped us focus on our breathing, remain centered, and welcome new challenges with gratitude. McKinzie is committed to helping us grow our practice at a rate appropriate for each of us and without injury. Each session is focused and intentional and takes into account both our limits and our needs. She has shown us that we certainly “can”. I highly recommend McKinzie.

“For about an hour after our session last night, my hips were not sore for the first time in a long time! that’s an important sign of progress and a clear indication of the value of our yoga sessions. Thank you.”
